Palazzo della Fraternita dei Laici ad Arezzo

it stands in Piazza Grande. Despite its construction dates back to three different eras, the set of different styles gives a wonderful result. The lower part is Gothic (XIV century), but the palace was completed in Renaissance style by Bernardo Rossellino in the fifteenth century. The whole is dominated by a small bell tower designed by Vasari (XVI century), where there is a clock by Felice da Fossato, still working indicating the time, the day and the phases of the moon, realized according to the Ptolemaic concept of universe, with the earth in the center around which the sun and the moon rotate.
