Piazza Grande ad Arezzo

It is the oldest square in the city and one of the most beautiful in Italy. Despite the buildings that surround it from different eras, the square boasts an incredible harmony. To the south and east there are medieval buildings (Palazzo Tofani, Torre dei Làppoli), to the north there is a sixteenth-century palace with a Vasari gallery, to the west the parish church of Santa Maria, the court building and the fifteenth-century building of the Laity Fraternity . Piazza Grande, made famous all over the world also from the film "La vita è bella" by Roberto Beningni is, twice a year, the scenario of the traditional "Giostra del Saracino".
